There’s a simple A, B, C. Acquisition, Behavior and Conversion.

Acquisition is how people are getting to your site. This could be referrals, directs entries, Organic Search, Social Media, etc.

Behavior is what people actually after seeing your ad, your web site in a search, after entering into your site, etc.

Setting up conversion tracking

Conversion tracking can help you see how effectively your ad clicks lead to valuable customer activity, such as website purchases, phone calls, app downloads, newsletter sign-ups, and more.

Whether you use AdWords to increase sales, generate leads, or drive other valuable customer activity, it’s a good idea to measure your return on investment (ROI). Knowing your ROI helps you evaluate whether the money you’re spending on AdWords advertising is going to a good cause: healthy profits for your business.

The best way to understand ROI is with the following formula:

(Revenue – Cost of goods sold) / Cost of goods sold

This is a video where you can understand how to use this google tool to track your ad  achievements.

Good and Bad Keywords.

A great keyword needs to be direct. It needs to get really close to what a person searching for a product or service will put on google when looking for this product or service. It get the person right to the websites that will satisfy his or her necessity.

After choosing a keyword, you can use google Quality Score tool to help you understand how good your keyword is. Here is a link to learn more about Google’s Quality Score tool: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2454010?hl=en&topic=1713971&path=1714057-1713967&ctx=leftnav

On contrair, a bad keyword is too general and ambiguous. After google it, it generates to many options. I mean, google need to know exactly what you offer and you tell it choosing the right keywords. If you chose a general keyword you may apear in many searches but not all of them are going to be potential buyers.

Create a google text ad

Headline

This is the biggest opportunity to grab your costumers attention. Try to put something that makes you unique.

Display URL

This is where your costumers are going to go after clicking your ad. It’s important to make your costumers go to the landing page, where they can do what the add promises.

Description

It’s the way you say your costumers what exactly are going to get after clicking your ad. It’s a great opportunity to put a special price or use words like «sale»,  «25% off» or «buy now», «book now»  to invite people to act.

In general, try to match your keywords.

Choosing a target for your photography business and then advertise.

Choosing a target for a photography business with a website is not a difficult thing to do but it’s really important to start with the marketing of your business. I recommend to target your city (or the cities around, maybe the whole state) for obvious reasons. You have to be able to get to my future costumers.
After that, it’s all about what you think is the best for your business and where your future costumers are more probably to get reach. Advertise in computers or mobile devices for example. After that you can chose between an automatic or manual bidding options and you have to think in a budget. How much money you can spend daily to attack your future costumers with publicity.

Legal things to start a business in Peru.

Starting a business could be really difficult if you don’t even know how much to charge. Legally you have to be in rule and have everything to be able to pay taxes so you don’t have problems with the government.
In Peru, you need to register in an office of the government call «SUNAT». They will give you a unique number that identify your business.
For taxes, You need to pay 18% of taxes and 2% of income taxes. Every 18% of the shopping that you do for the business become tax credit and at the end of the month you can do a balance so you end paying the subtraction between the 18% of your sales minus the 18% of your purchases.
That’s the basics.

PayPal or Credit Card… or both?

Web business are getting more popular every day. Sites have really attractive designs and contents, but the final the ultimate goal of the site is that the costumer buys something.

We have a couple or option to use as payment method after the costumer decides to buy something. In order to charge them we basically have 2 options. PayPal and a regular Credit Card. Here we’re going to see some of their pros and cons of both of them.

PayPal is a really popular paying system where people need to create an account and linked to their credit account. The biggest pro is that PayPal has a really good reputation. People really trust in PayPal and prefer to use it so they don’t have to give their card information to several sites overtime they purchase something. The biggest con that I see it is that people need to valid their credit card in order to start using PayPal. So if a costumer wants to buy something from your site. He’s not going to be able to do it if you accept a PayPal payment and he doesn’t have a PayPal account.

Credit cards in the other hand are better know by people. They’ve been years in the market and they are also reliable. The biggest Pro is that pretty much avery person with a bank account has a credit card. Two of the biggest cons are, one, they turn out to be more vulnerable, you just need the information (the one that you share with an online seller) to make another payment. Two, sometimes they charge extra fees, special with debit card and money being transfer to another bank.

I think that we’re going to find people that prefer either one of another payment method, so it’s not a bad idea to have both options in your business web site.

Hostings. Hostings everywhere.

Recently I was trying to decide which hosting service use for my website. It was a nightmare. Every one of them seams to offer the best deal, but if you look deeply, you can find that there’re not the same. To me, there are some things to have in mind once choosing a hosting service.

First of all, you should always checked if the hosting is compatible to the builder that you are using. This can be tricky, there’re some hosting site that not offer that information right away but if you search good enough, you’ll find out.

Choose at least 3 criteria and then do a deeply comparison. After comparing my three top choices I found that Justhost is the best deal. I use the minimum monthly cost, the minimum number of months and the Adwords credit as my criteria. I gave much weight to the first two because I’m not sure that a small site like mine is going to have real benefits with the Adwords credit, at least in the beginning. Ipage has the best monthly cost but they have bigger minimum number of months.

Justhost has the better deal to me, because I can even try it for a couple of months to see how I go without loosing too much money.
It’s important to know that there’s not «a» choice. It all depends on what type builder you are using, and the use that you are going to give it.
